My regular contributions to the monthly Japanese classical guitar magazine Gendai Guitar span decades also, including interviews and a regular ‘Letter from London’.


In April 2021, Gendai Guitar began publishing my series on the ‘Early Life of Julian Bream’. Three years later, and after publishing 36 articles, I have commenced my fourth year in this ongoing series.

I was the News Editor for the British monthly magazine Classical Guitar from 1990–2014 and, from 2015, when it became an American quarterly magazine, I was a Contributing Editor until Classical Guitar magazine ceased publication in 2019.

In 1997, I established and was the founding editor of the quarterly British magazine Flamenco International.

I have contributed to the German contemporary composer dictionary, KDG – Komponisten der Gegenwart.
